JAKARTA (MKRI) — Pangandaran regent and vice regent candidates 02 Ujang Endin Indrawan and Dadang Solihat (Hudang) retracted their petition over the Pangandaran regent election results dispute they had filed to the Constitutional Court (MK). This was revealed at the preliminary hearing for Case No. 10/PHPU.BUP-XXXIII/2025 presided over by Chief Justice Suhartoyo (panel chair) and Constitutional Justices Daniel Yusmic P. Foekh and M. Guntur Hamzah on panel 1 on Wednesday, January 8, 2025.

Wawan Suprawan, the Petitioners’ legal counsel, explained their reason for withdrawing the petition on December 13, 2024. “The revocation has been confirmed by the Pangandaran regent-vice regent candidates 02 Ujang Endin Indrawan and Dadang Solihat (Petitioners) and has been conveyed to the media and this case is retracted,” said Wawan.

The Petitioners argued in their petition that the violations committed by regent-vice regent candidates 01 Citra Pitriyami-Ino Darsono (Relevant Party) had resulted in the Petitioners’ loss in the 2024 regional election. This is because Pangandaran regent Jeje Wiradinata as well as West Java governor candidate and Pangandaran Regency PDI-P (Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle) chairman were in the Relevant Party’s campaign team. The Petitioners alleged there have been violations in order for the Relevant Party to meet their political ambition as an undefeated “political legend” in East Priangan.

As reported by jabar.tribunnews.com, former Pangandaran regent Jeje Wiradinata distributed incentives for chairpersons of neighborhood units (RT) and community units (RW) before the Pangandaran regent-vice regent candidates were certified. Meanwhile, Pangandaran regent candidate, Citra Pitriyami was allegedly vote buying in Cimerak District as written in Report No. 014/PL/PB/Kab/13.27/XI/2024.

The Petitioners requested that the Court annul the Decree of the Pangandaran Regency KPU (General Election Commission) No. 750 of 2024 on the certification of the 2024 Pangandaran regent-vice regent election results dated dated December 2, 2024; disqualify the regent-vice regent candidates 01 Citra Pitriyami and Ino Darsono, and declare candidates 02 Ujang Endin Indrawan-Dadang Solihat winners of the Pangandaran Regency election, or at conduct a revote in seven districts: Padaherang, Mangunjaya, Klipucang, Sidamulih, Pangandaran, Parigi, and Cimerak.
