JAKARTA (MKRI) — The 2024 Bogor regent and vice regent candidate 02 Bayu Syahjohan and Musyafaur Rahman withdrew the petition on Bogor Regent Election Result Dispute that the pair filed to the Court. This was decided in the Court’s Panel 1 hearing chaired by Chief Justice Suhartoyo and Constitutional Justices Daniel Yusmic P. Foekh and M. Guntur Hamzah, on Wednesday, January 8, 2025.

The petitioner’s legal counsel, Partumpuan F. Sinurat, confirmed the petition withdrawal during the hearing.

Previously, the petitioner filed a petition to the Court, requesting to annul the General Election Commission (KPU) Decree No. 4234 of 2024 concerning the Certification of the Bogor Regent-Vice Regent 2024 Election Results dated December 5, 2024. In the petitum for Case No. 179/PHPU.BUP-XXIII/2025, the petitioner argues that the vote difference between Bogor regent-vice regent candidate pair 01, Rudi Susmanto and Ade Ruhandi, amounts to 1,559,328 votes, while the petitioner is 599,453 votes. The difference in votes is 959,875 (45%)  with a total valid vote of 2,158,781.

The Petitioner alleges that the Relevant Party obtained their votes through structured, systematic, and massive (TSM) violations committed by the Respondent, who is the election organizer, as well as the Bogor Regency Elections Supervisory Body, subdistrict heads, and village heads, based on on field findings.These violations include the respondents’ polling station working committee not being neutral and openly siding with candidate pair 1, the involvement of state civil apparatuses and village heads for the announcement of winning the elections in Klapanunggal, Bogor Regency on September 12, 2024, cited from various news outlets.

As such, the Petitioner requests the Court to disqualify the 2024 Bogor regent and vice regent candidate pair 01, Rudi Susmanto and Ade Ruhandi, as the elected candidates, and to order the Respondent to issue a decree declaring the 2024 Bogor regent and vice regent candidate pair 02, Bayu Syahjohan and Musyafaur Rahman, as the elected candidates in the 2024 Bogor Regent Election.
