JAKARTA (MKRI) — Employees of the Constitutional Court (MK) held a ceremony to commemorate Heroes' Day on Sunday (10/11/2024) in the Building 2 outdoor of the Constitutional Court, Jakarta. Head of the Pancasila and Constitution Education Center (Pusdik) Mundiri acted as the ceremony instructor. In delivering the message of the Minister of Social Affairs Syaifullah Yusuf, Mundiri said that the theme of the 2024 Heroes' Day Commemoration was "Imulate Your Heroes, Love Your Country".
"This theme has a deep meaning. 'Emulate Your Heroes' means that all thoughts and actions must always be inspired by the spirit of heroism. Meanwhile, 'Love Your Country' means that whatever form of devotion we take, we must contribute to it. Mundiri continued that in this unpredictable global situation, loving one's country also means strengthening the bonds of social solidarity, strengthening social unity and solidarity, and reviving the social values of brotherhood among fellow citizens.
"The process of struggle to build a nation always takes different forms from year to year, this is related to changes in the strategic environment of the Indonesian nation. In each era, the challenges, opportunities, strengths and limitations will be different. When in the past the implementation of heroism was with the spirit of breaking through, and destroying the colonialist structures, now the implementation is to destroy the culture and structure of poverty and ignorance which are the roots of social problems in Indonesia," said Mundiri.
Therefore, the spirit of heroism must spread to the spirit of building, creating community prosperity, realizing lifelong social protection, realizing inclusive social welfare for people everywhere. The progress of a nation is not only measured by its ability to pursue economic growth, but the progress of a nation is also measured by its ability to manage social problems. Regarding the development of our times, continued Mundiri, do heroes only belong to the past? Is it possible for heroes to emerge today considering that the corridor of physical struggle to establish the country has ended with the formation of the Republic of Indonesia? Of course, the question is very narrow if it is associated with the fact that the field of struggle is only at the time of the formation of the country.
"The upcoming challenge is that we agree that the Republic of Indonesia is for the future, our shared home until the end of our lives, of course this opens up an opportunity for all Indonesian people to do their best in the corridor of making the Republic of Indonesia a dignified nation in global relations. Anyone has the opportunity to fight to defend the Republic of Indonesia and build the progress of the Republic of Indonesia," said Mundiri.
Although the mission of the previous heroes have been completed and have succeeded in realizing the Republic of Indonesia, Mundiri continued, then Indonesia hopes that the next hero will emerge who will provide enlightenment, provide hope and carry out honorable actions to bring the Indonesian nation to progress in various areas of life. All of that can be done by anyone. "Therefore, the Minister of Social Affairs hopes that the commemoration of Heroes' Day from year to year is not just an anniversary repeating what is routinely done. In addition, he also hopes that every moment of the Commemoration of Heroes' Day will give rise to a new spirit, the emergence of Indonesian citizens who have succeeded in issuing new innovations to implement heroic values in accordance with current challenges.
"In the end, never get tired of doing your best to emulate and inherit the values of heroism. Let us implement the traits of heroism and social solidarity in the midst of society starting from ourselves, starting from the smallest things that can be done around us for the benefit of society," said Mundiri reading the entire mandate of the Minister of Social Affairs.
