JAKARTA (MKRI) — The Library of the Polytechnic of Cyber and State Codes (Poltek SSN) visited the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Indonesia (the Court) Library on Thursday (21/10/2024). The delegation was welcomed by Kurniasih Panti Rahayu, Head of the Center for Research, Study, and Library Management (Puslitka), at the Court Library.
Kurniasih explained that the Court Library functions as a specialized library supporting the Court’s duties by providing substantive references and information for Constitutional Justices in handling constitutional cases. The library was established alongside the Court's inception in August 2002, with its operational functions beginning in early 2005.
Beyond serving the Court’s internal needs, the Library disseminates legal and constitutional information in both printed and electronic formats. It also serves as a documentation center for scholarly works produced by the Court's staff, including books, dissertations, theses, internship reports, and more. Furthermore, it functions as a learning and discussion hub for the Secretariat General and the Registrar's Office and provides public services in the fields of law and constitution, including guidance for interns and students participating in the "Merdeka Belajar" program.
To date, the Court Library holds a collection of 11,049 titles, 14 digital content items, 23,018 copies, and serves 439 registered members. Member visits have reached 2,906, with 893 visits from non-members. Plans for future development include creating a Digital Court Library powered by Artificial Intelligence (AI).
According to Kurniasih, the Court Library requires advanced IT systems and equipment to align with the Court’s vision of modern and trusted judicial services.
"Currently, the Court Library utilizes the INLISLite application developed by the National Library under an MoU. Moving forward, we aim to integrate this system with the Court's internal systems, such as the case management system, and incorporate AI technology to support case handling," she explained.
Yeni Farida, Head of the Poltek SSN Library, stated that the visit aimed to exchange knowledge on library management and services to enhance user reading interest.
"Our visit was prompted by suggestions from National Library assessors during our accreditation process, recommending a visit to the Court Library, which has achieved an A accreditation," she concluded. (*)
