The Constitutional Court of the Republic of Indonesia (MKRI) has entered its 21st year on August 13, 2024. To celebrate this anniversary, the Court held a ceremony in the courtyard of Court Building 2, Jakarta, on Tuesday (08/13/2024) morning.

Jakarta, Public Relation of MKRI- The ceremony was led directly by Chief Justice Suhartoyo and attended by eight constitutional justices, officers and employees within the Registrar's Office and the Secretariat General of the Constitutional Court. Starting his mandate as ceremony supervisor, Chief Justice Suhartoyo conveyed his 21st birthday greetings to the Court as an institution, to the constitutional justices, employees and the entire Court’s extended family.

"I would like to express my gratitude for the extraordinary work, for the dedication of all of you, in maintaining the Court so far, so that the Court is able to continue to survive and grow amidst the challenges of time," said Chief Justice Suhartoyo. .

Chief Justice Suhartoyo further said that the Court continued to work according to its authority. The Court continues to strive to become a constitutional court as it should be. At the same time, with the principle of transparency  continuing to be put forward, the public can see clearly how the Court works.

Chief Justice Suhartoyo also revealed that several recent survey results showed that the level of public trust and the image of the Court were getting better. Especially after the Court resolved the General Election Results Dispute (PHPU) for the President and Vice President, as well as the PHPU for members of the House of Representatives (DPR), Regional Representatives Council (DPD) and Regional Legislative Council (DPRD) in 2024.

“We should be grateful for this, it must be maintained and improved, by improving the performance of Court, by strengthening independence, impartiality, and we continue to improve the quality of the Court’s decisions, with the full support of all the apparatus of the Registrar's Office and the Secretariat General who must also continue to develop a culture and ethics oriented towards public service. "This is just like ladies and gentlemen as State Civil Apparatus (ASN) who are obliged to internalize and practice the core values ​​of good morals: Service Oriented, Accountable, Competent, Harmonious, Loyal, Adaptive and Collaborative," he stressed.

On this occasion, Chief Justice Suhartoyo congratulated to the employees who received the Satya Lencana Karya Satya for service periods of 10 years, 20 years and 30 years. This award is none other than the state's appreciation for the service of state civil apparatus who have been dedicated to the interests of the nation and state.

Then, Chief Justice Suhartoyo also congratulated the exemplary officers and employees who were selected in 2024. He hopes that the officers and employees who have received awards can become role models for others.

Thanksgiving and Appreciation

After the flag ceremony, the Court held a thanksgiving to celebrate its 21st anniversary which was held in the Hall of Building 1 of the Court. The thanksgiving was attended by Chief Justice Suhartoyo along with Deputy Chief Justice Saldi Isra and seven constitutional justices accompanied by their wives and Court’s employees. Also attended by Jimly Asshiddiqie (Chief Justice 2003-2008), Harjono (Deputy Chief Justice 2008), Chief of the Court’s Ethic Council (MKMK) I Dewa Gede Palguna (Constitutional Justice 2003-2008, 2015-2020), Maria Farida Indrati (Constitutional Justice 2008-2013 and 2013- 2018); .Hamdan Zoelva (Chief Justice 2013-2015), Wahiduddin Adams (Constitutional Justice 2014-2019 and 2019-2024), Manahan M. P. Sitompul (Constitutional Justice 2015-2020 and 2020-2023), MKMK member Yuliandri, and Witness and Victim Protection Agency (LPSK) Secretary General Noor Sidharta.

The Secretary General of the Court in his speech reported on a series of events in the framework of the 21st Constitutional Court Anniversary and the 79th Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia. Among other things, the Court held competitions in several sports, namely table tennis, rock dominoes, Mobile Legend e-sport. Meanwhile, activities related to arts include photography, song relay, flour relay, funnel ball and others. Meanwhile, there was activities related to social activities in the form of blood donations, seminar on mental health, healthy walk, and so on. 

The celebration of the 21st Court’s Anniversary became even more lively with the finalist's performance of songs relay. Then, the announcement of award winners and competitions within the Constitutional Court's internal empoyees which had been held in the previous days.
