JAKARTA, (MKRI) - The Constitutional Court (MK) dismissed a petition for the 2024 DPD (the Regional Representatives Council) election results dispute of Riau Province filed by Alpasirin. The ruling hearing for Decree No. 07-04/PHPU.DPD-XXII/2024 was held on Tuesday, May 21, 2024 at the plenary courtroom.

“[The Court] rules to declare the Petitioner’s petition inadmissible,” said Chief Justice Suhartoyo alongside the other eight constitutional justices.

In the legal considerations delivered by Constitutional Justice M. Guntur Hamzah, the Court stated that the Petitioner was concerned about the existence of forged signatures signed on behalf of the Petitioner's witnesses in C-results of Pelalawan Regency and Pekanbaru City, but the Petitioner explained that it had never sent or asked anyone to be a witness at the Pelalawan Regency and Pekanbaru City polling stations (TPS).

“Therefore, there is no doubt for the Court to declare that the Respondent's exception is grounded in law. Thus, according to the Court, the Petition is obscure,” said Constitutional Justice Guntur.
