JAKARTA (MKRI) — The Constitutional Court (MK) held a follow-up hearing of the 2024 general election results dispute (PHPU) for the DPR (House of Representatives) and DPRD (Regional Legislative Council). The case No. 67-01-05-05/PHPU.DPR-DPRD-XXII/202403052024 was filed by the National Democratic Party (NasDem) for the DPRD election in Sarolangun Regency, Jambi Province, electoral district (dapil) Sarolangun Regency DPRD.
The hearing was held in Panel 3, presided over by Constitutional Justices Arief Hidayat, Anwar Usman and Enny Nurbaningsih, on Monday, May 13, 2024. The agenda of the hearing was to hear the response from the General Elections Commission (KPU) as the Respondent, the statement from the Relevant Parties, and the testimony from the Elections Supervisory Body (Bawaslu) as well as the validation of evidence.
The Petitioner informed the Panel of Constitutional Justices that the case to be withdrawn at the preliminary hearing on May 3, 2024. Thus, the Petitioner's petition throughout Sarolangun 2 must be canceled.
"The statement of the KPU (Respondent) is considered to be read out," said Justice Arief Hidayat.
