KPU Responds Withdrawal PHPU Legislative Petition in Central Bengkulu 3

JAKARTA (MKRI) — The General Elections Commission (KPU) provided responses concerning the withdrawal on case No. 192-01-12-07/PHPU.DPR-DPRD-XXII/2024 filed by the National Mandate Party (PAN). This was stated by the KPU as the Respondent in the hearing for the 2024 DPR (House of Representatives) and Provincial/Regency/City DPRD (Regional Legislative Council) Election Results Dispute (PHPU) in electoral district Central Bengkulu 3 which was held on Wednesday, May 8, 2024, in Panel 3.

KPU asserted that as the organizer of the elections, all processes from voting, vote counting, to tiered vote recapitulation from the sub-district to the district levels have been carried out in accordance with the statutory provisions.

Furthermore, in a hearing presided over by Justice Arief Hidayat, the KPU responded to the withdrawal request submitted by the Petitioner. According to the KPU, given the withdrawal of the petition initiated by the Petitioner through their legal counsel, the KPU remains on the withdrawal.

For information, during the preliminary hearing, the Petitioner declared the withdrawal of their petition related to the PHPU. Also, the Petitioner’s legal counsel revealed that the withdrawal was made at the instruction of Zulkifli Hasan, Chairman of the PAN. No further explanation was given as to the reason behind the withdrawal.
