JAKARTA (MKRI) —The Constitutional Court (MK) held a continued hearing of the 2024 election results dispute of the DPR (House of Representatives), Provincial and Regency/City DPRD (Regional Legislative Council) on Tuesday (7/5/2024). The second hearing of Case No. 259-01-13-31/PHPU.DPR-DPRD-XXII/2024 petitioned by the Bulan Bintang Party (PBB) was held by Panel 2, presided over by Deputy Chief Justice Saldi Isra (panel chair) with the Constitutional Justices Ridwan Mansyur and Arsul Sani.
The Respondent General Elections Commission (KPU) through its legal counsel, Zahru Arqom, in his statement stated that the Petitioner's argument stating that there was a vote dispute written by the Respondent to DPRD of the East Seram 1 reached 1,063 votes is incorrect. Since Zahru continued, the Respondent has carried out a recapitulation count of votes in stages by applicable regulations.
"The Respondent needs to convey that the Chairman of the East Seram Regency KPU who led the recapitulation at the district level always allowed witnesses and Bawaslu to respond to the results read out by the Sub District Election Committee (PPK) in East Seram Regency and if there were improvements, they were made together at the district level recapitulation," said Zahru.
Changes in Numbers
Samsun Ninilouw in Bawaslu's statement said that the recapitulation of the results of the vote count at the Teluk Waru District level (East Seram District) was based on data from the results of supervision carried out by polling station supervisors related to the vote acquisition for the Star Moon Party. "So there is no difference in the results between Model D.Results of Sub-District-DPRD KABKO Teluk Waru Sub-district and Model C.Results of Copy-DPRD KABKO from 25 polling stations in Teluk Waru Sub-district," said Samsun.
