JAKARTA (MKRI) – The KPU said that the general election results dispute (PHPU) of the DPRD petition filed by Antika Roshifah Fadilla, a candidate from PKS, was vague. This was conveyed by Idham Barkah Natasasmita representing the KPU in the follow-up hearing of the general election results dispute for the election of DPRD candidates for the West Java Electoral District held by the Constitutional Court on Wednesday (8/5/2024) in the Plenary courtroom of the Constitutional Court. The second session of Case Number 160-02-08-12/PHPU.DPR-DPRD-XXII/2024 presided over by Chief Justice Suhartoyo, with Constitutional Justice Daniel Yusmic P. Foekh and Justice M. Guntur Hamzah.
The KPU also argued that the legal basis on which the petition was based did not explain the case of a dispute over general election results. In addition, the petitioner did not postulate the existence of a dispute over the general election results between candidates of the internal Prosperous Justice Party.
"Instead, it only mentions the number of votes without detailing the correct vote acquisition comparison according to the petitioner. The Petitioner's petition is even more unclear because it does not explain the legal basis applicable in the General Election Dispute and does not even explain a single argument related to errors committed by the Respondent," Idham said.
