JAKARTA (MKRI) — The Constitutional Court (MK) held a follow-up hearing on the 2024 legislative Election Results Dispute for DPR (House of Representatives), DPD (Regional Representatives Council), and Provincial and Regency/City DPRD (Regional Legislative Council) on Wednesday (8/5/2024). The second Hearing of Case No. 260-01-12-18/PHPU.DPR-DPRD-XXII/2024 requested by the National Mandate Party (PAN) was presided over by panel 2—Deputy Chief Justice Saldi Isra and Constitutional Justices Ridwan Mansyur and Arsul Sani.
The Hearing agenda is listening to the Respondent's (KPU) answers, statements from Relevant Parties, and Bawaslu's statements, as well as ratifying evidence. Umar Achmad Seth in a statement from Bawaslu for NTB Province stated that the results of Bawaslu's supervision through Panwas at TPS 01–TPS 05 in Wadukopa Village, the PAN vote acquisition at TPS 1–4 was 0 votes and at TPS 5 was 21 votes.
Then regarding the death of voters who allegedly voted, Bawaslu clarified that the owner of the name Muhammad Ali at TPS 5 was deceased and did not use his right to vote. Meanwhile, M. Ali registered at TPS 3, exercising his right to vote. So it can be ensured, continued Umar, that no voter is using another ballot paper.
Meanwhile, concerning the argument that deceased voters' status and used by someone else, as stated in the absence of attendance, Bawaslu has carried out supervision that a revote is necessary.
"Based on the Bawaslu report at TPS 1, 2, 3, Wakopa Village, there were no deceased voters who used their right to vote or who had their right to vote used by someone else. This is proven by the fact that there were no objections from witnesses and supervisors during the voting and counting at the TPS regarding the use of voting rights," explained Umar.
