JAKARTA, MKRI – The Constitutional Court (MK) held a hearing on the 2024 General Election Results Dispute (PHPU) of Members of the House of Representatives (DPR), the Regional Legislative Council (DPRD) (PHPU DPR) on Tuesday, May 07, 2024. The case, filed under No. 62-01-01-01/PHPU.DPR-DPRD-XXII/2024, by the National Awakening Party (PKB)for the filling of candidates for DPR member of Aceh Election District 1.
The hearing was conducted by Panel 3 heard by Constitutional Justices Arief Hidayat (panel chair), Anwar Usman, and Enny Nurbaningsih. The agenda of the hearing was to listen to the Respondent's (KPU) response, the Relevant Party's statement, and Bawaslu's statement, as well as the ratification of evidence.
During the preliminary hearing convened at the Court on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, PKB, represented by legal counsel Subani, declared its decision to withdraw the petition. Subani affirmed, "Today we just received information regarding the withdrawal of the case filed by PKB and it is true that PKB is not continuing the PHPU process for the filling of candidates for the Aceh 1 Election Regional House of Representatives."
During this hearing, the Petitioner reaffirmed the withdrawal of the case submitted during the preliminary hearing. The Petitioner's legal counsel, Suluh Jagad, stated, "PKB said that the DPP PKB submitted a request to revoke the petition."
