JAKARTA (MKRI) – The Constitutional Court (MK) held a follow-up hearing over the 2024 election results dispute of the DPR (House of Representatives), Provincial and Regency/City DPRD (Regional Legislative Council) on Tuesday, May 7, 2024. The follow-up hearing for case No. 236-02-12-31/PHPU.DPR-DPRD-XXII/2024 filed by the National Mandate Party (PAN) was presided over by Deputy Chief Justice Saldi Isra and Constitutional Justices Ridwan Mansyur and Arsul Sani on the Panel 2.
The General Election Commission (KPU) as Respondent through its legal counsel, Miftakhul Huda, conveyed an answer to the Petitioner's argument that the Respondent only followed up on the recount at 2 polling stations (TPS) and did not make other recommendations. Huda said that there are 3 subdistricts argued, namely Tehoru, Banda, and Telutih, but the Petitioner only described two subdistricts. Then the Respondent responded to the subdistrict election supervisory committee (Panwascam) recommendation to conduct a recount and this had been carried out in Tehoru Subdistrict in accordance with applicable regulations.
“The subdistrict election committee (PPK) has carried out the recommendation for a recount at TPS 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 of Yaputih Village. Then PPK replied to the recount recommendation letter at 5 TPS that actually did not fulfill the requirements. Because Panwascam actually only recommends 2 TPS for recounting at TPS 2 and 3 of Yaputih Village according to Pannwascam's conclusion,” explained Huda.
