JAKARTA (MKRI) — The Constitutional Court (MK) held a follow-up hearing for the 2024 legislative election results dispute (PHPU) of the Regional Representatives Council (DPD) for Riau Province on Tuesday, May 7, 2024. Case No. 06-04/PHPU.DPD-XXII/2024 was held by Chief Justice Suhartoyo and Constitutional Justices Daniel Yusmic P. Foekh and M. Guntur Hamzah.
The Respondent’s legal counsel Imamul Muttaqin conveyed the Petitioner only presented the vote acquisition data in general, not providing details on which polling stations (TPS) wanted to compare. The Respondent in this case remains firm on the results of the national recapitulation that has been carried out by the Petitioner's votes amounting to 185,403 votes.
"Regarding the arguments of the Petitioner's petition regarding D-results there is an inflation of votes with an increase in the number of DPTb (additional final voters list) and DPK (special voters list) for DPD candidates for Riau Province is not true, because the vote count organized by the Respondent, is carried out in stages starting from the subdistrict, regency/city, provincial to the national level," said Imamul.
Likewise, with the argument regarding the difference in votes of three thousand votes. KPU as the Respondent stated that it was not true.
