JAKARTA, (MKRI) — The General Elections Commission (KPU) denied any vote shift from the legislative candidates of the National Democratic Party (NasDem) to those of the People’s Conscience Party (Hanura) in the election for the Sintang Regency Regional Legislative Council (DPRD) in Electoral District (Dapil) 1. This was stated by the KPU, acting as the respondent, during the 2024 General Election Results Dispute (PHPU) hearing at the Constitutional Court (MK).

“There has been no change or shift in votes for Hanura,” said the Respondent’s legal counsel Ali Nurdin in the plenary courtroom on Tuesday May 7, 2024. The case No. 165-01-05-20/PHPU.DPR-DPRD-XXII/2024 was heard by Chief Justice Suhartoyo with Constitutional Justices Daniel Yusmic P. Foekh and M. Guntur Hamzah on Panel 1.

The KPU stated that the Sintang Regency/City DPRD D result form shows that Nasdem received 4,033 votes while Hanura received 4,041 votes. This vote count was openly conducted in the presence of witnesses from all political parties involved and was overseen by Bawaslu (Elections Supervisory Body) of Sintang Regency at all polling stations (TPS).

The West Kalimantan Provincial Bawaslu acknowledged an election violation complaint concerning the Sintang Regency DPRD in electoral district 1, submitted by Dedy Suripto. After the review, the Sintang Bawaslu discontinued the report, citing corrective recommendations had been made.

Hanura was a Relevant Party in case No. 165-01-05-20/PHPU.DPR-DPRD-XXII/2024. At the hearing, it presented a statement fundamentally rejecting all claims made by Nasdem, the Petitioner.

In the petitum, the Petitioner asks the Court to annul the KPU Sintang Decree No. 1229 of 2024 on the recapitulation of the 2024 Sintang Regency DPRD election. They requested the Court to validate the accurate vote count for the Petitioner at TPS 04 in Kapuas Kanan Hulu, aiming to secure the seventh seat in electoral district 1 of Sintang for Nasdem, which, according to the Petitioner, should be 4,073 votes, surpassing Hanura by 70 votes with 4,003 votes.
