JAKARTA (MKRI) — The General Elections Commission (KPU) as Respondent denied any forgery of signatures on the DPD C.Result model forms in Pelawan Regency and Pekanbaru City, said KPU’s legal counsel Ilhamsyah at a follow-up hearing of the 2024 DPD (Regional Representatives Council) election results on Tuesday, May 7, 2024 in the plenary courtroom. This second hearing fore case No. 07-04/PHPU.DPD-XXII/2024 was presided over by Chief Justice Suhartoyo with Constitutional Justices Daniel Yusmic P. Foekh and M. Guntur Hamzah.
“There is no court ruling with permanent legal force that conclusively and legally proves any criminal act of signature forgery associated with the signing or fraudulent signatures of the Petitioner’s witnesses on the DPD C.Result model forms in Pelawan Regency and Pekanbaru City,” said Ilhamsyah.
He added that without any solid court evidence proving criminal signature forgery, the Petitioner’s allegations are baseless.
“Therefore, given that the Petitioner has failed to prove their allegation of signature forgery by witnesses on the DPD C.Result model forms in both Pelawan Regency and Pekanbaru City, Riau Province, it is both rightfully and legally reasonable to dismiss and reject the Petitioner’s claim,” he declared.

Bawaslu (Elections Supervisory Body) acknowledged election infractions by the polling station working committee (KPPS) for permitting political witnesses to sign the DPD witness section, as stated by Indra Khalid on behalf of Bawaslu.
“The administrative violations were committed by the reported, therefore the decision states that the reported was not proven to have committed the violations,” explained Indra.
