JAKARTA (MKRI) — Sophia Laureen Sarmita, a legislative candidate from the Great Movement Party (Gerindra) filed a petition for the 2024 election results disputes (PHPU) of the House of Representatives (DPR) and Regional Legislative Council (DPRD). The Petitioner through the case No. 47-02-02-25/PHPU.DPR-DPRD-XXII/2024, requests the cancellation of the General Elections Commission (KPU) Decree No. 360 of 2024 for the Minahasa 2 Electoral District (Dapil) regarding the DPRD election in Minahasa Regency, North Sulawesi.

The preliminary hearing of this case was presided over by the Constitutional Justices Arief Hidayat (panel chair), Anwar Usman, and Enny Nurbaningsih, Friday, May 3, 2024, in Panel 3.

"In this case, the Petitioner is in dispute with candidates number 4 and 5 from the Great Movement Party (Gerindra)," said legal counsel Kartati Maya Sofia in the Court.

Furthermore, Kartati explained the indications of fraud. One of them is an administrative violation concerning the vote count in Form C. Results. The violation occurred at Polling Station 001, Wasian Village, West Kakas Sub-district, Minahasa 2, Minahasa Regency, North Sulawesi Province. According to the Form C. Results Copy – Regency/City DPRD, the Petitioner received 51 votes, but it was recorded as 15 votes.

Violations also occurred at several other polling stations in West Kakas Sub-district, Minahasa 2, Minahasa Regency, North Sulawesi Province, including at Polling Station 1, Simbel Village; Polling Station 3, Panasen Village; Polling Station 03, Kalawiran Village; Polling Station 002, Touliang Village; Polling Station 2, Simbel Village; and others.

Thus, the Petitioner requests that the Court cancel the KPU Decree No. 360 of 2024 on the 2024 election results dispute for the President and Vice President, DPR, DPD (Regional Representatives Council), and Provincial and Regency/City DPRD of the Minahasa 2 in appointing Members of the Minahasa Regency DPRD, North Sulawesi Province. Additionally, the Petitioner requests a revote in Minahasa 2, Kakas and West Kakas Sub-district, Minahasa Regency, North Sulawesi Province.
