Perindo Withdraws PHPU Petition in Boalemo 2 Gorontalo

JAKARTA (MKRI) —  The Constitutional Court (MK) held a preliminary hearing for the 2024 General Election Results Dispute for members of the House of Representatives (DPRD), Provincial Legislative Councils, and Regency/City Legislative Councils (PHPU DPR/DPRD), petitioned by the United Indonesia Party (Perindo) on Friday, March 3 2024. The hearing for Case No. 22-01-16-29/PHPU.DPR-DPRD-XXII/2024 was presided over by Panel 2–Deputy Chief Justice Saldi Isra, Justices Ridwan Mansyur and Arsul Sani.

During the session, Amriadi Pasaribu, acting as the Petitioner's legal counsel, announced the submission of a withdrawal request regarding the annulment of the General Elections Commission (KPU) Decision No. 360 of 2024, announced on Wednesday, March 20, 2024. "In accordance with the withdrawal letter from Gorontalo, we hereby retract this petition," stated Amriadi from the Panel Session Room, Building 2 of MK, Jakarta.

Following this statement by the Petitioner's legal counsel, Deputy Chief Justice Saldi Isra confirmed that the Court has received the withdrawal of the petition on behalf of Riko H. Djaini, a candidate for the Regency Legislative Council from the United Indonesia Party in the Boalemo 2.


For context, the petition stated that the Petitioner was involved in a vote count dispute with the Great Movement Party (Gerindra) candidate Selvi Olii. As a result, the Petitioner failed to secure the second seat in the Regency Legislative Council. Additionally, the Petitioner also experienced a loss of votes in several villages, including Dulupi and Tabongo Villages in Dulupi Subdistrict, and Harapan Village in Wonosari Subdistrict.
