Perindo Candidate Claims Election Mismanagement Caused Zero Vote

"The petitioner's votes are suspected to be included among several provincial DPRD candidates from other political parties." said the petitioner’s legal counsel, La Ode Muhammad Rusliadi Suhi, in the Courtroom of Main building of the Court, Central Jakarta on Friday May 3 2024. The case No. 158-02-16-37/PHPU.DPR-DPRD-XXII/2024 was heard by panel 1—Chief Justice Suhartoyo (panel chair) and Constitutional Justices Daniel Yusmic P. Foekh and M. Guntur Hamzah.

The petitioner claimed that vote counting mistakes occurred in Assotipo, Popugoba, and Maima Districts after Electoral District Papua Pegunungan 1 replaced the old PPD. The petitioner says 19,383 votes were lost to other parties in these three districts.

In the petitum, The petitioner asked the Court to annul the General Elections Commission (KPU) Decree No. 360 of 2024 for Papua Pegunungan 1 in Assotipo, Popugoba, and Maima. Festo Asso, Perindo Party candidate for Provincial DPRD of Papua in the Papua Pegunungan 1, received 19,383 votes, and the petitioner asked the court to certify the vote acquisition. (*)
