JAKARTA (MKRI) – The United Development Party (PPP) filed a petition on the 2024 General Election Results Dispute (PHPU) with the Constitutional Court (MK) for the candidacy of Regional Legislative Council (DPRD) members of Palembang City in the Electoral District (Dapil) Palembang 2, South Sumatra Province. Through legal counsel Fahmi Nugroho and legal counsel Ahmad Laksono, PPP (Petitioner) presented the essence of the Case No. 278-01-17-06/PHPU.DPR-DPRD-XXII/2024 in the Preliminary Hearing held at the Court on Thursday (05/02/2024). It was presided over by Constitutional Justice Arief Hidayat, accompanied by Constitutional Justices Anwar Usman and Enny Nurbaningsih.
"The issue in this petition concerns Dapil 1 and Dapil 2 of South Sumatra, Dapil 2 of Palembang, and the Dapil 2 of the House of Representatives (DPR) in Palembang City," explained Petitioner’s legal counsel Ahmad Laksono.
Petitioner’s legal counsel Ahmad disclosed the occurrence of individual vote inflation under the name of Andri Adam (the National Democratic Party (NasDem) Candidate) as well as inflation or addition to Nasdem votes, so that the actual vote count for the divisor of 3 (three) should not be 7,828 votes; rather, it should have resulted from dividing the divisor of three (3), totaling 7,721 votes. Factually, Andri Adam's individual votes as a Nasdem candidate amounted to 4,165 votes. However, according to the Petitioner, field observations have uncovered a vote inflation of 107 votes, resulting in the actual votes acquired being 4,058.
During the hearing, discrepancies in vote count results were also uncovered across 8 polling stations (TPS) associated with the Nasdem Party. These include TPS 013 and TPS 104 in Sukajaya Village, TPS 008, TPS 020, and TPS 023 in Teluk Jambe Village, TPS 005 in Talang Betutu Village, TPS 006 in Sukodadi Village, and TPS 063 in Kebun Bunga Village.
