JAKARTA (MKRI) — Legislative candidates from the National Awakening Party (PKB) Slamet submitted petition on 2024 election results dispute (PHPU) to the Constitutional Court (MK). According to Slamet, candidate number 1, should get the Jayapura Regency DPRD seat for Electoral District (Dapil) 4 Jayapura, and not Wihelmus Manggo, candidate number 2, as determined by the General Election Commission (KPU).

"The determination for Wihelmus Manggo should be Mr. Slamet because there has been a transfer vote," stated the Petitioner's legal counsel, M Zaenuddin, in the Panel Courtroom on Thursday (2/5/2024).

The Petitioner stated that the vote margin was the result of a purge of PKB votes in a couple of districts by 101 votes. Additionally, there was a reduction in Slamet's results in several districts by 72 votes, as well as for several other legislative candidates. Conversely, Wihelmus' votes saw an increase of 1,049 votes

Thus, the KPU determined Wihelmus as the PKB legislative candidate who won the Jayapura Regency DPRD seat in Jayapura 4. However, according to the Petitioner, he should have won the Jayapura Regency DPRD seat in Jayapura  4.

In his petitum, the Petitioner request the Court to annul KPU decree No. 360 of 2024 on the certification of the 2024 legislative election results of of the DPR, DPD, DPRD in the 2024 Election which announced nationally on March 20 2024 at 22.19 WIB along Dapil 4 to fill in candidates for members of the Jayapura Regency DPRD. The Petitioner also requests the Court to determine the correct vote results according to the Petitioner for filling the Jayapura Regency DPRD membership for Jayapura 4 as follows: PKB (231 votes) and Slamet (1,005 votes).
