JAKARTA (MKRI) — The People's Conscience Party (Hanura) requested the Constitutional Court to order the General Elections Commission (KPU) (Respondent) to carry out a recount at three polling stations in Electoral District (Dapil) Bima 3. This occurred because the Polling Station Working Committee (KPPS) in Bima 3 did not conduct a public count of the votes for Bima Regency Regional Legislative Council (DPRD) candidates.

The argument was conveyed by Nurul Azmi and Adil Sapurta Akbar as legal counsels for the Hanura Party (Petitioner) in the hearing of Case No. 238-01-10-18/PHPU.DPR-DPRD-XXII/2024. The Preliminary Hearing on the Election Results Dispute (PHPU) House of Representatives (DPR)/DPRD of 2024 was held on Panel 2 presided by Deputy Chief Justice Saldi Isra and Constitutional Justices Ridwan Mansyur and Arsul Sani on Thursday (2/5/2024).

Azmi explained that KPU Decree No. 360 of 2024 on  the Certification of the 2024 Legislative Election Results of the President and Vice President, DPR (House of Representatives), DPD (Regional Representatives Council), and Provincial and Regency/City DPRD (Regional Legislative Council) announced nationally  on March 20, 2024 at 22:19 WIB. Therefore, the Petitioner has requested a recount, particularly at polling stations 4, 5, and 6 of Bima 3.

Witnesses from multiple political parties protested the absence of a vote count for the Bima Regency DPRD at Bima 3 following the voting process. However, their response was met with intimidation by individuals believed to be affiliated with legislative candidates from a particular party,” said Azmi.

Therefore, the Petitioner requested the Court to instruct the Respondent to count the ballots of the Bima Regency DPRD members at polling station 4,5, and 6 Bima 3, Mpili Village, Donggo District, Bima Regency, NTB.
