JAKARTA (MKRI) — The Party of Functional Groups (Golkar) filed a petition on the 2024 general election results dispute to the Constitutional Court (MK) for Tanjung Pinang City DPRD (Regional Legislative Council) in the electoral district (dapil) of Tanjung Pinang 4 of Riau Islands Province. The Petitioner questions PDI-P’s (Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle) votes that were taken from other political parties, which affected Golkar, the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI), and the United Indonesia Party (Perindo).

“The Petitioner rejects the results of the vote count carried out by the Respondent (KPU) for the DPR and Provincial DPRD election in Riau Islands Province,” said Akbar M Zainuri in the plenary courtroom on Thursday, May 2, 2024.

The Petitioner stated that there had been an addition of 100 votes for PDI-P, thus affecting PDIP’s overall vote acquisition.

The Petitioner has filed an objection to Tanjung Pinang City Bawaslu (Elections Supervisory Body). However, the vote acquisition had changed significantly and affected the 2024 election results as determined nationally by the Respondent in the General Elections Commission (KPU) Decree No. 360 of 2024.

In its petitum, the Petitioner requests the Court to cancel the KPU Decree on the certification of the 2024 legislative election results nationally on Wednesday, March 20, 2024 at 22:19 WIB as it pertains to Tanjung Pinang 4 electoral district for the election of Tanjung Pinang City DPRD. It also requests the Court to determine the correct vote acquisition for Tanjung Pinang City legislative candidates for electoral district 4 at TPS 13 and 14 of Tanjung Unggat Village and to determine the correct vote acquisition for PDI-P with 5,392 votes, Golkar with 5,484 votes, PSI with 1,127 votes, and Perindo with 1,219 votes.

The case No. 169-01-04-10/PHPU.DPR-DPRD-XXII/2024 was heard by Chief Justice Suhartoyo and Constitutional Justices Daniel Yusmic and M. Guntur Hamzah in Panel 1.
