JAKARTA (MKRI) — The Constitutional Court (MK) held a preliminary hearing for disputes over the results of the election of candidates for the House of Representatives (DPR) and Provincial/Regency/City Legislative Council (DPRD) of electoral district East Aceh 2, East Aceh Regency, on Tuesday, April 30, 2024 in the Panel 3 MK Courtroom. The hearing of case No. 161-02-01-01/PHPU.DPR-DPRD-XXII/2024 was presided over by the Constitutional Justices Arief Hidayat, Anwar Usman, and Enny Nurbaningsih. This petition was filed by Yanti Anggreyani who is an Aceh Regency/City Legislative Council (DPRK) candidate Number 3 of East Aceh Regency from the National Awakening Party (PKB).

Legal counsel Subani argues that there had been vote inflation resulted a margin between the votes certified by the Respondent and her version. According to the Petitioner, the margin of the vote acquisition was caused by the additional votes of DPRK candidate in East Aceh Regency from the same party as her, on behalf of Azhari (number 5) in Peureulak Subdistrict, Alue Paya Gajah Village, polling stations 1 by 2 votes and polling stations 2 by 6 votes. This occurred since there were data input errors from the Respondent, as can be seen in the C. Results (Plano), C. Results Copies, and D. Results forms.

The Petitioner claims that the inflation votes not only took her votes, but also took the votes of other candidates at the same party.

For this reason, she requests that the Court grant her petition in its entirety, cancel the KPU Decree No. 360 of 2024, and certify her version of the vote acquisition results.
