Golkar Seeks Vote Recount in Electoral Districts Maluku 2 and Central Maluku 4

JAKARTA (MKRI) — The Constitutional Court conducted the Preliminary Hearing of the 2024 Legislative Election Results Dispute in response to the petition from the Party of Functional Groups (Golkar). The case numbered 256-01-04-31/PHPU.DPR-DPRD-XXII/2024, was heard by Panel 2 of the Court, presided over by the Deputy Chief Justice Saldi Isra, Ridwan Mansyur and Arsul Sani on Tuesday, April 30, 2024.

Golkar, through its legal counsel, Michael Dolf Lailossa, filed the petition to the Court to annul the General Elections Commission (KPU) Decision No. 360 of 2024, announced on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, at 22:19 WIB, specifically regarding the allocation of seats for the Provincial Legislative Council (DPRD Provincial) of Maluku in Maluku 2 and the Regency Legislative Council (DPRD Regency) of Central Maluku in Central Maluku 4.

From the vote tally for the DPRD Provincial of Maluku in Maluku 2, according to the Respondent, Golkar received 11,278 votes, while the National Democratic Party (NasDem), according to the Respondent, received 11,292 votes, resulting a margin of 17 votes. For Central Maluku 4, concerning the DPRD Regency of Maluku, according to the Respondent, Golkar received 3,207 votes whilst according to the Petitioner, 3,211 votes, making a margin of 4 votes. Meanwhile, the vote tally for the Indonesian People’s Wave Party (Gelora), according to the Respondent, was 3,271, and according to the Petitioner, 3,193, resulting a margin of 78 votes.

As an illustration, the Petitioner mentioned that at polling station (TPS) 12 in Hitu Lama Village, Leihitu Sub-district, Central Maluku Regency, there was an increase in votes for Gelora, from initially 33 votes to 53 votes based on the C Result held by Golkar. Additionally, at this TPS, there was also a shift in votes for the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) from originally 15 votes to 0 votes.

"At TPS 10 in Hitu Wakasihu Village, Leihitu Subdistrict, Central Maluku Regency, according to document C Result copy held by Golkar, there was an increase in votes from initially 0 votes to 50 votes. As a result, the total change in vote acquisition based on the political party comparison for Central Maluku DPRD  Regency Central Maluku 4 reached 65 votes," reported Michael.

Based on this, the Petitioner requests the Court to order the Respondent to conduct a re-vote at TPS 03 in Seith Village, Teluk Kaeily Sub-district, Maluku Province for DPRD Provincial in Maluku 2. Additionally, the Petitioner requests the Court to determine the correct results of the vote recount for political parties and candidates of Central Maluku DPRD Regency in Central Maluku 4, where Golkar should have 3,211 votes and Gelora should have 3,193 votes. Furthermore, the Petitioner asks the Court to instruct the Central Maluku Regency KPU to conduct a vote recount at TPS 10 in Wakasihu Village, Leihitu Subdistrict, Central Maluku Regency.
