The Great Movement Party (Gerindra) filed a petition for the Dispute over the General Election Results for Legislative Members 2024 to the Constitutional Court (MK). Gerindra petition is recorded with Case No. 229-01-02-12/PHPU.DPR-DPRD-XXII/2024. In its petition, Gerindra alleges vote inflation for National Democratic Party (NasDem) in 35 Majalengka and Subang subdistricts.

The petitioner's legal counsel, Munatshir Mustaman, stated that the petitioner received 106,934 votes for the House of Representative (DPR)  seats in West Java IX electoral district, while the NasDem Party received 105,558 votes.

In the hearing chaired by Panel Chief Justice Suhartoyo, Munatshir stated, “Gerindra is what is left of the votes from the acquisition of one (1) seat, and according to the petitioner, the dispute in vote acquisition as shown in the table above, is caused by the addition and/or inflation of votes.”

The petitioner claimed that the respondent contributed to the vote acquisition dispute by inflating NasDem Party votes. In 53 subdistricts in Majalengka and Subang Regencies, the NasDem Party allegedly inflated votes during recapitulation.

This caused the respondent to increase NasDem vote acquisition at every recapitulation level. These show the respondent's 2024 election vote shifts, additions, and inflation for 53 Majalengka and Subang subdistricts. The Minutes and Recapitulation of the Vote Acquisition Results for Political Parties and Candidates for the House of Representatives from Regencies/Cities within the Election Province of 2024 detail the recapitulation investigation for West Java IX DPR RI seats. .According to the matter above, the recapitulation process for filling the DPR RI seats in West Java IX electoral district was examined closely.

Based on the facts above, He continued, the respondent conducted vote inflation in 53 subdistricts in Majalengka Regency and Subang Regency, and the Court should establish the correct vote acquisition according to the petitioner or based on the factual events, which legally mandates a Recount of the Ballot Votes (PSSU) to ensure the certainty of voters who exist and have constitutional voting.

He underlined that these violations have cost the petitioner votes, which has prevented the petitioner from winning a seat in the DPR RI for West Java electoral district 9. The petitioner thus asks that the Court instruct the KPU to hold a Revote (PSU) in 53 subdistricts in Subang Regency and Majalengka Regency in order to fill the DPR RI seats in the West Java IX electoral district.
