Golkar Party Questions Decreasing Votes in Bangkalan 2 Electoral District

JAKARTA (MKRI) — The Constitutional Court (MK) held the Preliminary Hearing case No. 223-01-04-15/PHPU.DPR-DPRD-XXII/2024 filed by the Party of Functional Groups (Golkar) on 2024 legislative election results dispute. The case was heard by panel 2, consisting of Deputy Chief Justice Saldi Isra (panel chair) and Constitutional Justices Ridwan Mansyur and Arsul Sani, on April 29, 2024.

Irwan as legal counsel for the Golkar Party (Petitioner) in the hearing held in the Panel Courtroom, second building of the Court, requested the Court to annul the General Election Commission Decision (KPU) Number 360 of 2024 concerning The Spitulation of the General Election Results for Presidential ticket, Members of the House of Representatives (DPR), Regional Representatives Council (DPD), the Regional Legislative Council of Province and National Regency/City (DPRD) nationally that announced on March 20, 2024 at 22:19 WIB for Bangkalan 2 Electoral District (Dapil). 

Irwan and Riska Nindya Intani highlighted key points from the petition regarding the membership allocation in Bangkalan Regency's DPRD for Electoral District 2. They emphasized a decrease of 2,299 votes for the Petitioner across Klampis, Sepulu, and Geger Districts, alongside an increase in votes for other parties including PKB (646 votes), NasDem Party (114 votes), PKS (33 votes), PAN (975 votes), Democratic Party (32 votes), and PPP (499 votes). Additionally, the Petitioner contested a decrease in votes for the Golkar Party across six villages: Bator, Bragang, Panyaksagan, Larangan Glintong, East Klampis, and Manonggal.

Further, Riska explained that the transfer of votes, totaling 64 votes, with a breakdown as follows: 19 votes to PPP DPRD candidates, 21 votes to DPRD PKB legislative candidates, 7 votes to NasDem legislative candidates, 8 votes to Democratic Party DPRD candidates, and 9 votes to Hanura DPRD candidates.

"The Petitioner requests that the Court ruling a decision by determining the correct vote acquisition of the Golkar Party and Bangkalan Regency DPRD Candidates from the Golkar Party Bangkalan 2 for Bator Village, Manonggal Village," said Riska on the Petitioner's petitum.
