JAKARTA (MKRI) — The Constitutional Court (MK) held the preliminary hearing for the 2024 General Election Result dispute of the DPR (House of Representatives), Provincial and Regency/City DPRD (Regional Legislative Council) for case No. 19-01-04-36/PHPU.DPR-DPRD-XXII/2024 by the Functional Groups Party (Golkar) on Monday, April 29, 2024. The hearing was presided over by the Constitutional Justices Arief Hidayat (panel chair), Anwar Usman, and Enny Nurbaningsih in panel 3.

Golkar (Petitioner) through legal counsel Eugen Ehrlich Arie, stated that there was a margin in the votes announced by the General Elections Commission (KPU) as the Respondent. The margin affected the overall vote obtained by the Petitioner.

"There are two electoral districts that are the subject matter of the petition in the DPRD election of electoral district 2 of Deiyai Regency where Golkar should have received 4,493 ballots which were then certified by the Respondent to be only 2,616 votes. So there was a margin of 1,877 votes," he said at the court.

Besides that vote loss in electoral district 2, the Petitioner also questions the reduction of votes in electoral district 3 of Deiyai Regency. According to the Petitioner, based on fact that the Golkar obtained 6,120 votes, yet the Respondent only certified 4,571 votes, so there was a margin of 1.549 votes. 

For this reason, the Petitioner request the cancellation of the KPU Decree No. 360 of 2024 for the DPRD election in electoral districts 2 and 3 of Deiyai Regency, Central Papua Province, and to certify the Petitioner version of the vote acquisition results.
