JAKARTA (MKRI) - The Constitutional Court of the Republic of Indonesia held the preliminary hearing on the election results dispute (PHPU) filed by Septinus Tipagau, a candidate for the Provincial Regional Legislative Council from the Functional Groups Party (Golkar) in Electoral District (Dapil) 2 of Central Papua, Papua Province, for the 2024 Legislative Election. The Court held the Hearing for Case No. 103-02-04-36/PHPU.DPR-DPRD-XXII/2024 on Monday (04/29/2024).

In the petition, the Petitioner believed their vote acquisition was supposed to be 15,113 votes. However, according to the General Elections Commission (KPU) decree, the Petitioner's vote count was zero (0).

“The difference in the Petitioner's vote acquisition, according to the Petitioner's and the Respondent's calculations, is due to the reduction of the Petitioner's votes at several polling stations (TPS) in Dapil 2 of Central Papua, such as TPS Kampung Nggalemba by 648 votes, TPS Kampung Ogepa by 985 votes, TPS Kampung Engga Nengga by 400 votes, TPS Kampung Bamba by 1700 votes, TPS Kampung Bamba by another 1700 votes, TPS Kampung Agapa by 1000 votes, and at several other TPS. This reduction in votes occurred because they were transferred by the PPD Homeyo to Yosua Tipagau identified as the PDIP candidate number 1," stated Sergius Webiser as the Petitioner's legal counsel.

In the Petitum, the Petitioner requested the Court to annul KPU Decree No. 360 of 2024 for Central Papua, especially in Dapil 2 Intan Jaya Regency. The Petitioner also sought accurate stipulation of the vote count result, specifically for Septinus Tipagau, with a total of 15,113 votes, as evidenced in the Petition.
