JAKARTA (MKRI) — A Democratic Party legislative candidate, Maryatin, individually filed a petition on the 2024 Regional Legislative Council (DPRD) for the electoral district of Banyumas 1 in Banyumas Regency, Central Java Province. She claimed the correct vote acquisition affected the seats for members of the House of Representatives (DPR), Provincial DPRD, and Regency/City DPRD in Banyumas Regency.

“Reduction of the Petitioner’s votes and the addition of votes for Abdullah Arif Budiman, S.E. was found from the difference between the C1 results and the D Plano results. Reduction of the Petitioner’s votes by 406 votes occurred in several polling stations in four subdistricts,” said the Petitioner’s legal counsel M. Mualimi in the panel courtroom of the Court’s second building on Monday, April 29, 2024.

The Petitioner said that the Relevant Party’s version of her votes was 4,023 votes, while her version was 4,429 votes. Meanwhile, the Relevant Party’s version of Abdullah Arif Budiman’s votes was 4,327 votes, while according to the Petitioner it was 4,051 votes. The Petitioner alleges that the reduction of her votes in Patikraja Subdistrict by 200 votes was due to the recapitulation of the C Plano copy obtained by the Democratic Party witness after the manual counting by the polling station working committee (KPPS).

The Petitioner also alleged the addition of 76 votes for other candidates in South Purwokerto, West Purwokerto, and East Purwokerto Subdistricts. The additional votes were allegedly due to manipulation of the total count according to the recapitulation based on the C Plano copy that was recapitulated by the KPPS. The Petitioner also argued that there were reductions in several other polling stations in a number of subdistricts in Banyumas 1 electoral district.

In her petition, the Petitioner requests that the Court cancel the General Elections Commission (KPU) Decree on the certification of the 2024 DPRD election results of Banyumas Regency on March 20, 2024 for Banyumas Regency electoral districts. She also requests that the Court certify the correct vote acquisition for her for the Regency DPRD in electoral districts in Banyumas from the Democratic Party as follows: 4,429 votes for Maryatin and 4,051 votes for Abdullah Arif Budiman.

The Case No. 188-02-14-13/PHPU.DPR-DPRD-XXII/2024 was heard in Panel 1, presided over by Chief Justice Suhartoyo and Constitutional Justices Daniel Yusmic P. Foekh and M. Guntur Hamzah.
