JAKARTA (MKRI) — Presidential and vice presidential candidate number one Anies Rasyid Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar (AMIN)
JAKARTA, HUMAS MKRI - Presidential and Vice Presidential Candidate Number 1 Anies Rasyid Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar (AMIN) filed a petition on presidential election results dispute (PHPU Presidential) to the Constitutional Court (MK). AMIN's legal team and AMIN National Campaign Team (Timnas AMIN) arrived at the Constitutional Court Building 3 on Thursday (21/3/2024) morning to complete the petition files that had previously been registered online. The petition was registered with the Deed of Petition Submission (AP3) Number: 01-01/AP3-PRES/Pan.MK/03/2024.
"Alhamdulillah, today we officially submitted the petition to the Constitutional Court. We have done (registration) through online at one o'clock last night and this morning we and the legal team are all complete accompanied by our National Team Captain," said the Chairman of AMIN National Campaign Team (Timnas AMIN) Ari Yusuf Amir during press conference.
Ari said that the Constitutional Court received well and was professional in serving the registration of the Presidential PHPU petition. The petition is almost 100 pages and the AMIN National Legal Team also accompanies the petition with evidence of the petition arguments as it happens in the field. Ari revealed that the AMIN pair will attend the preliminary hearing at the Constitutional Court.
"Hopefully the Constitutional Court will open the hearts of its judges to see these facts as clearly as possible," Ari said.
Presidential Election Process
Ari explained that this petition departs not only from the issue of results but also the process of obtaining these results. He claims that in fact the election did not run as it should in an honest, free, and fair, in fact in this year's election there was a betrayal of the constitution which was structured, systematic and massive (TSM).
According to Ari, the Constitutional Court is the official forum for the AMIN campaign team to seek justice for the 2024 election results. He mentioned in his petition regarding the issue of the nomination of vice president number 2, continued on the issue of the status of vice president number 2 as the son of a president who is still in office which is closely related to the massive distribution of social assistance (bansos), the non-neutrality of the election organizing apparatus, and the involvement of government officials who benefit or harm certain candidate pairs.
"The AMIN National Legal Team hopes that a resolution to this dispute through a re-vote (PSU), with the exclusion of Vice Presidential Candidate Number 2, Gibran Rakabuming Raka. In the event of a PSU, a substitute candidate must be nominated to replace Vice Presidential Candidate Number 2."
"Of course, we hope that the revote will be held without being followed by the current vice presidential candidate 02, and that the vice presidential candidate will be replaced with whoever is replaced, please. Let us compete honestly, fairly and freely," Ari said.
He is also optimistic that the Constitutional Court will carry out the PHPU in accordance with the applicable regulations. "God willing, we are optimistic about the judges in the Constitutional Court," Ari said.
