JAKARTA (MKRI) — The Constitutional Court (MK), in collaboration with the Jayakarta Kodam Main Regiment (Rindam Jaya), again held an Attitude and Discipline Training for Constitutional Court Security Personnel in 2024, Friday, March 8, 2024, at Rindam Jaya, Jakarta. This activity was carried out to improve leadership, competence, discipline, ethical manners, and excellent service within MK's Secretariat General and Registrar's Office. The third training batch was opened by the Head of Administration of Justices and Employees Sub Division of the Constitutional Court (MK), Muhammad Arief.

In his opening remarks, Arief said that the exercise, which will last for three days, aims to optimize leadership potential and effort to foster a sense of togetherness and discipline among participants who have diverse backgrounds.  Arief asked the 42 participants who took part in this activity to be serious and make the most of the opportunities that cannot be obtained by every citizen. In addition, this activity is not a form of militarization of civil society.

"Nation defense is not an effort to militarize civil society, but basically this education is directed at providing knowledge and skills of a military nature, in the form of introduction to discipline, mental and physical formation and to foster a sense of nationality and love for the country," Arief said.

Arief further said that this attitude and discipline strengthening exercise is also an effort to maintain the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia, as mandated in Article 30 of the 1945 Constitution, that every citizen is entitled and obliged to defend the country.

"That means that every citizen, both civilian and military, has the same rights and obligations in maintaining the integrity of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia," Arief said.

Arief emphasized that although the participants will receive education and training from military instructors, security and safety factors are still maintained so that the activities that will last for three days will continue to run conducively.
