BOGOR (MKRI) — The Constitutional Court (MK) held a training for prospective legal counselors to improve the understanding of procedural laws within the Registrar’s Office and the Secretariat-General on Monday, December 18, 2023. This event was to support the filling of the functional position of legal counselors.
Secretary-General Heru Setiawan said that the Court had been transforming its bureaucracy through position transfers. It constantly innovates and make structural changes through simplified bureaucracy and transfer from administrative officials to functional positions.
“The Court has 21 functional positions [for its employees],” said Heru in his opening remarks while opening the event.
He said 16 prospective legal counselors who passed the administrative selection stage participated in the training. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Law and Human Rights had agreed to 63 vacancies of legal counselors in the Court, which include 9 ahli madya, 19 ahli muda, and 36 ahli pertama.
Head of the Human Resources and Organization Bureau (SDMO) Sri Handayani said that those 16 prospective legal counselors would undergo competency test for the positions. She said they were from some of the Court’s own work units, i.e. the Pancasila and Constitution Education Center (Pusdik), the Human Resources and Organization Bureau (SDMO), the Legal Affairs and Registrar Administration Bureau, as well as the Inspectorate.
This event was collaboration between the Court, the National Law Development Agency (BPHN), the Ministry of Law and Human Rights, and the Indonesian Migrant Worker Protection Agency (BP2MI). the training will last for three days from Monday to Wednesday, December 18-20, 2023 at the Pancasila and Constitution Education Center, Bogor, West Java Province.
BPHN Secretary I Gusti Putu Milawati delivered her directives on the functional positions and head of the Center for Legal Assistance Sofyan delivered directives on the functional position competency test policy. The presentations were followed by a computer-based test (CBT), essay writing, managerial and sociocultural interview by BP2MI and technical interview by BPHN, as well as a plenary session on the passing of competency test of Tuesday, December 19.
Head of BPHN Widodo Ekatjahjana attended the opening. In his opening remarks, he expressed hope that the prospective legal counselors can pass the competency test with optimum results.
