LABUAN BAJO (MKRI) — The Constitutional Court (MK) held a work meeting for constitutional justices, structural and functional officials, and employees in Registrar’s Office and the Secretariat-General on Thursday, November 30, 2023 in Labuan Bajo. This meeting was held in preparation for the handling of the 2024 simultaneous election results dispute cases and the determination of the vision and mission of the Constitutional Court for 2025-2029.
This event was opened by Chief Justice Suhartoyo. In his opening remarks, he explained that the meeting would discuss the preparation for the 2024 general election results disputes the determination of the vision and mission of the Constitutional Court for 2025-2029.
“Regarding the preparation for the handling of the 2024 simultaneous election results dispute cases, the Constitutional Court has prepared the entire task force to provide support to the constitutional justices in handling the election results dispute cases,” he said.
The Court has also prepared a strategic plan (renstra) for 2025-2029. “For that, of course, it is necessary to determine the vision and mission of the Constitutional Court through this work meeting, then we will follow up to formulate strategic objectives, program objectives, and activity objectives of the Constitutional Court for the next 5 (five) years,” he stressed.
In his concluding remarks, Justice Suhartoyo said the aim of this event was to strengthen communication, trust, and support for each other, and maintain motivation, rhythm, and enthusiasm for work in the Constitutional Court.
Meanwhile, Secretary-General Heru Setiawan explained the main agenda and divided the meeting into three sessions. “The first session is on Friday morning, which covers the secretary-general report, budget of 2023, budget of 2024, and annual report of 2023, as well as the Registrar’s Office report of 2023, followed by directives by the constitutional justices. The second session is on Friday afternoon, which covers the secretary-general report on the 2024 legislative and presidential election results dispute task force and the Registrar’s Office report on the resolution of the 2024 legislative and presidential election results disputes, followed by directives by the constitutional justices. The third session is on Friday afternoon, which covers the determination of the vision and mission of the Constitutional Court for the preparation of the Constitutional Court’s strategic plan for 2025-2029 and the discussion of the 2023 annual report and the 2024 calendar,” he said.
In addition, Heru appealed to all participants to follow all discussion sessions and work meeting activities carefully. “So that we be better prepared to face various challenges and problems that may occur in the coming year,” he concluded.
