BOGOR (MKRI) Constitutional registrars (PASTI) and expert assistants to constitutional justices (ASLI) sat together in a meeting to discuss the preparation of documents and supporting regulations for the functional positions of PASTI and ASLI, Thursday, November 9, 2023) in Bogor, West Java Province. Both play a role in supporting the constitutional justices in their work, detailing the design of work relations through business maps of the processes of both components.

This meeting was attended by all of PASTI and ASLI and officially opened by Deputy Chief Justice Saldi Isra along with Secretary-General Heru Setiawan and Chief Registrar Muhidin. In his opening remarks, Justice Saldi said that both fields of work are important and influence the quality of the constitutional justices’ decisions because their scopes of work intersect directly with the justices’ narratives in the legal review of a case.

“This meeting, which will run for a few days, hopefully can integrate the two work scopes of PASTI and ASLI. There should be a concrete mechanism to assess the clear duties, for both ASLI and PASTI. Sometimes, ASLI plays the role of a justice, preparing details until the end. Now there should be a clear differentiation between ASLI and PASTI’s duties. PASTI go into the final [decisions], while ASLI do not. What ASLI do will be used as input for the draft prepared by PASTI. Then the draft will be modified by the justices following their style,” he stressed.

This meeting is taking place from Thursday to Saturday, November 9-11, 2023 in Bogor. PASTI and ASLI will discuss a lot of things regarding their work systems and the intersection of their work. They will also receive guidance on these matters from representatives of the Ministry of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform.
