BOGOR (MKRI) — The Constitutional Court (MK) held a focus group discussion (FGD) on early initiation and information gathering for the preparation of the Court’s strategic plans (Renstra) for 2025-2029 on Thursday, October 12, 2023 in Bogor, West Java Province.

In his opening remarks, head of the Planning and Finance Bureau Tatang Garjito said that this event was an initial meeting for the preparation of the strategic plans. “We must plan in 2025-2029 what the Court is going to do? Today a kick-off meeting is held. This strategic plans are by the Court… I think there is no doubt that we are serious about this meeting. … Of course, the Planning and Finance Bureau has circulated to all work units to explore what will be done in 2025-2029,” he said.

He argued that the Court was still figuring out what to do in the next five years. This meeting served to find feedback from all work units on issues and programs that had not been achieved and what to do in the future.

“[The issues] will be mentioned [at this meeting] and be discussed again some other time. The preparation of strategic plans is not only once. The first is brainstorming, from us to us first,” he said.

After presentations are delivered, Tatang informed the audience that there would be several panels to discuss the topics. “Of course this event should produce an output, so it needs to be seriously prepared. This output will be brought to the justice work meeting,” he said.

A representative of the Directorate-General of Budget of the Ministry of Finance also gave feedback on the Court’s future budget. The meeting was joined by 50 participants and will be taking place for three days on Thursday-Saturday, October 12-14, 2023. In 2019, the Court prepared the strategic plans for 2020-2024. This year, it is required to establish strategic plans for the next five years (2025-2029).
