JAKARTA (MKRI) — Law study program of Ahmad Dahlan University (UAD) had an audience with the Constitutional Court (MK) on Thursday, October 12, 2023 in the delegation room. They were welcomed by the acting head of Public Relations and Protocol Bureau Budi Wijayanto.

Dean of the Faculty of Law of UAD Megawati conveyed the purpose of their visit to the Court, which was to establish cooperation with the Court.

“We have often visited the Constitutional Court with our students, while we do so today in order to improve cooperation,” she said.

Megawati hoped that the cooperation can go well, not only to introduce students to the Constitutional Court as a judicial institution but also to introduce the public to the citizens’ constitutional rights.

In response, Budi Wijayanto said the Court and UAD can establish collaboration in many aspects, such as in providing a smartboard mini courtroom. This technological device will make it easier for students to see the Constitutional Court’s hearings. However, Budi explained, the smartboard can only be delivered in early 2024.

He further said that in the future, the Court and UAD can communicate further regarding the implementation of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the two. He also left UAD to provide ideas on the activities to implement.

“The activities should be able to impact many elements of society, not only students,” he hoped.

He added that not only university students, but also elementary school, junior high school, and senior high school students should be able to participate in the activities. This is because the next generations of the nation should also be introduced to the citizens’ constitutional rights so that they uphold the Constitution. Some collaborative activities that the Court have carried out are constitutional debate competitions, moot courts, constitutional camps, constitutional boarding schools, etc.
