Court Holds Meeting to Revise SOTK

TANGERANG (MKRI) — In order to revise the organizational structure and work procedure (SOTK) of the Registrar’s Office and the Secretariat-General, the Constitutional Court (MK) held a meeting. The meeting also served as a discussion forum on the draft of the regulation of the Minister of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform (Permenpan) on the functional positions of constitutional registrars. The meeting lasted for three days in Tangerang, Banten Province on Thursday-Saturday, September 21-23, 2023.

In his opening remarks, Chief Justice Anwar Usman said the Constitutional Court Decision No. 121/PUU-XXI/2022 revised the Court’s SOTK. Moreover, ahead of the 2024 Election, the Court is required to arrange the SOTK promptly, in line with Decision No. 121/PUU-XX/2022.

“Let’s execute what has been mandated in the decision promptly. Moreover, there will be the presidential and legislative election. Therefore, the SOTK should be adjusted to follow the Constitutional Court decision,” said Chief Justice Anwar along with Constitutional Justices Wahiduddin Adams, Enny Nurbaningsih, Suhartoyo, Daniel Yusmic Pancastaki Foekh, and M. Guntur Hamzah.

Meanwhile, Secretary-General Heru Setiawan said the meeting would prepare three things. First, the regulation of the chief justice on the structure of the Court’s Registrar’s Office. The positions of chief registrar, deputy registrars, expert assistant to constitutional justice (ASLI) coordinator, as well as the functional positions of the junior, middle-rank, intermediate, and senior registrars were also discussed. Second, the draft of Permenpan on functional positions of registrars, the revision of the SOTK of the Registrar’s Office and the Secretariat-General of the Constitutional Court. “We have prepared the problem inventory list (DIM) that will be discussed with the interviewee from the Ministry of State Secretariat, Ministry of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform, and the National Civil Service Agency (BKN),” Heru said. 

Constitutional justices, structural and functional officials, and the staff members of the Registrar’s Office and the Secretariat-General of the Constitutional Court attended the meeting.
