PPP Members to Actively Participate in 2024 Election

BOGOR (MKRI) — Head of the Program and Implementation Department of the Pancasila and Constitution Education Center (Pusdik) Nanang Subekti officially closed the workshop on the procedural law for the 2024 General Election Results Disputes (PHPU) for the United Development Party (PPP). He urged the PPP members to actively participate in organizing the 2024 Election.

“Hopefully this PHPU workshop will provide great benefits so that [PPP members] can play an active role in ensuring the success of the 2024 Election,” said Nanang in his closing remarks.

He said that the measure of a democratic election is the fulfillment of the principles of direct, public, free, confidential, honest, and fair. These principles can be met if the process of disputing election results takes place in accordance with the Constitutional Court’s procedural law and statutory provisions.

Therefore, the Constitutional Court urged political party members to take part in the PHPU workshop to prepare for the 2024 Election, in which they can learn about the procedure for submitting a petition or testifying as a relevant party in disputes over election results in the Constitutional Court.

He also expressed his gratitude and appreciation for the PPP members who participated in the workshop. He also expressed his hope that the participants, who are now the Court’s partners, provide teach others the constitutional rights of citizens. He also conferred awards to some of the most active and best participants of the workshop.

The workshop for PPP took place on Monday-Thursday, August 7-10, 2023 at the Pancasila and Constitution Education Center. During the workshop, participants received materials on the Constitutional Court and the dynamics of election results dispute case resolution; the mechanism, stages, and schedule of the 2024 PHPU; and the electronic case management information system.

After the presentations, the participants also had the opportunity to practice drafting a PHPU petition and the relevant party’s statement for the 2024 Election, which were then assessed by the workshop’s supervisors.
