JAKARTA (MKRI) — To celebrate its 20th anniversary, the Constitutional Court (MK) in collaboration with Kompasiana organized a writing competition on the theme of public expectations. They assessed 16 selected articles on Monday, August 7, 2023 in one of the Court’s meeting rooms.

The assessment was carried out to find the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place as well as the 5 most favorite works from the categories of the general public and journalists. The assessment was based on the suitability of the article with the theme of the competition and its originality, the depth of the message, and the impact of the article on the public. The presentation and arrangement, the informative element of the article, and the use of language and quality of writing were also assessed.

The articles were assessed by the head of the Legal Affairs and Registrar Administration Bureau Fajar Laksono and expert assistant to constitutional justice Bisriyadi as well as Kompasiana judges Pepih Nugraha (professional writer) and Billy Khaerudin (senior journalist of Kompas).

The article submission had taken place since the month before until Monday, July 24, 2023. As many as 260 articles were submitted in the general category and 50 articles in the journalist category. The final selection was made by Kompasiana and 16 articles were selected.
