TANGERANG (MKRI) — Chief Justice Anwar Usman opened a workshop on the evaluation of constitution case budget and other budgets for the second trimester and the events and budgets for the third and fourth trimesters of 2023 on Thursday, June 22, 2023 in Tangerang, Banten Province.

He said that accountability is important in the management of state finances. The most important thing is preventing any unlawful use of state budgets.

He emphasized that everything that the state and God Almighty had granted must be met with optimal work. He also revealed having witnessed the Court staff members working hard until late in the night.

Meanwhile, Deputy Chief Justice Saldi Isra requested that all bureaus explain the distribution and management of their budgets as well as the challenges that they met. He said that he would be listening more than giving directions, since it was the first time that he had to oversee budgets in the Court. He would like all bureaus to provide him with information on the challenges they faced and their solutions. He added that the matters discussed in that session would be forwarded to the constitutional justices for their consideration.

Previously, Secretary-General Heru Setiawan reported that the 101 workshop attendees would be discussing the spending and acceleration of budgets for the sake of overview. The implementation of activities and budgets, he said, is evaluated by the National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas), the Directorate-General of Budgets, the Directorate-General of Treasury, and the Jakarta I Treasury Office (KPPN).

Heru expressed hope that the attendees would actively provide their views, opinions, inputs, and recommendations for more transparent, accountable, and quality budget management.
