JAKARTA (MKRI) — The Constitutional Court (MK) held a flag-hoisting ceremony to commemorate Pancasila Day on Thursday, June 1, 2023 at the yard of its second building in Jakarta. Acting Head of the Center for Information and Communication Technology Sigit Purnomo led the ceremony, with all structural and functional officials as well as staff members of the Court in attendance.

Sigit read out the President’s speech entitled “Building Civilization and Global Growth through Mutual Cooperation” and urged the entire Court employees to understand that Pancasila is an important milestone in Indonesia’s history. Mutual cooperation is a spirit that the nation has in instilling solidarity and compassion for others. It also teaches everyone to cooperate with each other to achieve common goals regardless of social, religious, and cultural differences.

He added that mutual cooperation plays an important role in building a progressive and sustainable civilization. It takes active participation of all elements of the nation because achieving the nation’s goals cannot be done only by one party or group.

Sigit also added that the spirit of mutual cooperation is also required in global development. In this increasingly interconnected era, countries are dependent and influence one another. Therefore, Indonesia must cooperate with other countries to overcome global challenges, such as climate change, poverty, and inequality, through mutual cooperation. Only with this value will Indonesia be able to overcome challenges that it will encounter and create sustainable growth for the entire world.

“Through this theme for the commemoration of Pancasila Day of 2023, hopefully Indonesia, especially all of its leaders, government officials, religious figures, instructors, and civil organization figures can lead by example in actualizing Pancasila values,” he said.
