BOGOR (MKRI) — The workshop on the procedural law for the 2024 General Election Results Dispute (PHPU) for Lembaga Tinggi Masyarakat Adat Republik Indonesia (Lemtari), an institution for Indonesian indigenous peoples, officially concluded on Thursday, April 13, 2023 at the Pancasila and Constitution Education Center in Cisarua, Bogor, West Java Province.
The event had been officially opened by Chief Justice Anwar Usman, with Acting Head of the Pancasila and Constitution Education Center Elisabeth in attendance. Constitutional Justice Arief Hidayat, substitute registrar Mardian Wibowo, and expert assistant to constitutional justice Irfan Nur Rachman delivered presentations at the event.

Lemtari’s central executive board (DPP) chairman Suhaili Husein Datuk Bandaro Mudo said the organization had not received any attention from the Government, while Indonesian traditional customs are its identity. He also expressed hope that the Government could make Lemtari a state institution for indigenous peoples, which would enforce customary laws in the regions and make traditional customs Indonesia’s identity.
He also expressed his impression of the workshop. “Hopefully the knowledge from this workshop can be implemented in the regions and prove beneficial for indigenous peoples in the regions. To the Constitutional Court, thank you for welcoming Lemtari as a participant. I hope in the future Lemtari can join future workshops at this center,” he concluded.

The workshop, which took place on Monday to Thursday, April 10-13, 2023 at the Pancasila and Constitution Education Center, was attended by 130 Lemtari members. Constitutional justices, expert assistants to constitutional justices, substitute registrars, and other speakers delivered presentations at the event.
