(MKRI) — Acting Head of the Constitutional Court’s (MK) Center for Information and Communication Technology (Pustik) Sigit Purnomo closed UIN Law Fair VI on behalf of Acting Secretary-General Heru Setiawan at Harun Nasution Auditorium, UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta on Sunday, March 19, 2023. In his remarks, Sigit said the Court through the Registrar’s Office and the Secretariat-General confirmed its support for UIN Law Fair VI in 2023.

“Ladies and gentlemen, outside of its judicial function of examining, adjudicating, and deciding cases, the Court takes its responsibility alongside all components of the nation to improve constitutional awareness, to improve understanding of the citizens’ constitutional rights, to raise awareness of the meaning of the Constitution in the nation and state life,” he said.

He added that the Court welcomed the faculty’s invitation for cooperation as UIN Law Fair VI had similar goals as the Court. “We have one purpose. We collaborate for one purpose, that is, to collaborate and synergize to improve constitutional awareness for a more advanced Indonesia,” he said.

Sigit also expressed appreciation for the event’s success, including the constitution debate competition, the academic writing competition, and the public lecture. Constitutional Justice Wahiduddin Adams also spoke at the event and served as a member of the jury.

“Congratulations to the winners, who will be announced soon. Whoever wins, do not be arrogant. Whoever loses, it does not mean you do not get anything. Do not make excuses. George Washington once said 99% of failures come from people who make excuses. John C. Maxwell said sometime you win, sometime you learn,” he emphasized.

Sigit said that lessons can be learned from failure. He encouraged the participants not to give up and to keep up their spirit. Spirit, he said, is worth even more than money and power.
