JAKARTA (MKRI) — Representatives of several workers unions visited the Constitutional Court (MK) on Wednesday, January 25, 2023 with Denny Indrayana from the Center for Government, Constitution, and Society (Integrity) Law Firm to file a material judicial review petition against Government Regulation in Lieu of Law (Perppu) No. 2 of 2022 on Job Creation.
In a brief interview in front of the Constitutional Court, FSP LEM SPSI secretary-general Arif Minardi said the organization was taking a legal measure to the Court against the piece of legislation, which it believes has harmed workers’ constitutional rights.
“Just now we visited the Constitutional Court. Next week to [PTUN/the State Administrative Court]. Then on February 14, 2023 we will protest. We won’t let the President and the House take arbitrary steps on its citizens,” he said alongside chairwoman of Serikat Buruh Sejahtera Indonesia ‘92 Sunarti.

Denny Indrayana confirmed that, as the organizations’ legal counsel, he filed the judicial review petition for the alleged lawless action by the Government.
“Two legal measures will be going in parallel. The petitioners are the same, these 13 workers unions. This is part of the Indonesian people’s protest,” he said.
After the Government passed Perppu No. 2 of 2022 on Job Creation on December 30, 2022, the Petitioners filed the formal and material judicial review petition to the Constitutional Court. The Court has examined petitions No. 5/PUU-XIX/2023 and 6/PUU-XIX/2023 on the same piece of legislation on Thursday, February 1.
