THE HAGUE (MKRI)—On Monday, October 31, 2022, the Constitutional Court’s (MK) Recharging Program 2022 was officially inaugurated by the head of the Legal Affairs and Registrar Administration Bureau Tatang Garjito before the representative of Indonesia’s Ambassador to the Netherlands Fredi Panggabean and faculty members of The Hague University of Applied Sciences (THUAS)—Dean of the Faculty of Public Management, Law and Safety Liduine Bremer, Program Director of International Law Claire Moore, senior lecturer in law Michail Vagias, and team leader of Business Development and Continuous Professional Development Joost de Langen. The event marked the start of the collaborative program between the Court and THUAS.

The program, which took the theme “The Digital Transformation of Constitutional Adjudication in the Covid-19 Era: Legal and Ethical Dimensions,” take place from October 31 to December 9. The theme fit the Court’s annual report of 2021, which focused on the Court’s digital transformation.

Seven staff members of the Courts who have education background in law were selected as participants based on an assessment of their performance throughout the year. They consist of a substitute registrar, expert assistants to constitutional justices, a legal analyst, a manager of case and decision data, and a legislation and bill analyst.

The recharging program is held by the Court annually since 2017, with the exception of 2020 and 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It serves as a crucial program for the development of the Court’s staff members, thus must be organized continuously in order to help staff expand their knowledge and enrich their insights following legal developments, not only nationally but also internationally.
