JAKARTA (MKRI)—With the rapid development of the world thanks to massive movement of information technology, the Indonesian people must create a narrative of mutual cooperation and Pancasila as well as positive narratives of the nation and state, especially on social media, said Constitutional Justice Arief Hidayat in his opening speech of the technical assistance program (bimtek) on the resolution of election results disputes (PHPU) for the Alumni Association of the Law Faculty of Diponegoro University (IKA FH Undip) at the Pancasila and Constitution Education Center (Pusdik MK) in Cisarua, Bogor.

In his speech on “The Implementation of Pancasila Values in the Development of National Law,” Justice Arief urged the participants to understand the development of civilization. In the past, humankind were hunters, then they turned into a simple agrarian society. Then the steam engine was invented and sparked the beginning of modern civilization.

Society became even more complex in 5.0, where humans began to be replaced by robotics. However, technology cannot replace judges, prosecutors, police officers in the legal field. Humans still have a role in civilization, including the control of information through social media.

“Humans remain at the center of civilization. The role of humans will remain at the center of the changes and developments of their lives. Therefore, in facing the very rapid changes, the Indonesian people must remain guided by the vision and mission of the nation enshrined in the Preamble to the 1945 Constitution,” he said alongside Acting Head of the Pancasila and Constitution Education Center Imam Margono.

The Constitutional Court, which was formed in 2003, Justice Arief added, is continuously expanding its work. Not only does it carry out the mandate of the Constitution, it also expands its protective role by cooperating with constitutional courts throughout the world to uphold justice. Its activities are in line with what the founding fathers intended as the goals of the nation and state in the fourth paragraph of the Preamble to the 1945 Constitution (“and participate in the world orderliness based on freedom, eternal peace and social justice”).

For this reason, advocates that are members of IKA FH Undip can also pay a legal role to uphold justice based on Pancasila values, which guide the life of the nation. “By saying Bismillâhirrahmânirrahîm, the the technical assistance program on the procedure of the resolution of election results disputes (PHPU) for the Alumni Association of the Faculty of Law, Diponegoro University as well as IKA FH Undip’s national work meeting is officially opened,” Justice Arief said alongside the chairperson of IKA FH Undip Ahmad Redi and 45 participants.
