JAKARTA (MKRI)— Secretary-General M. Guntur Hamzah attended a hearing meeting (RDP) with the House of Representatives’ (DPR) Commission III for finalizing the work plans and budget of state ministries and institutions for the 2023 state budget on Wednesday, September 21, 2022 at Nusantara III Building. He reported that 68.55% of the Constitutional Court’s (MK) budget for 2022 had been spent—27% for the resolution of constitutional cases and 73% for management.
The budget ceiling for 2023 will be optimized for several allocations, such as staffing, procurement, performance operational support, capital, and non-operational goods. He also reported that the budget for technical assistance programs on constitutional procedural laws and workshops on election results dispute resolution (PHPU) would be prioritized.
The 2023 budget will also used to support case handling, such as for revitalizing ICT devices, developing case management applications and other applications for administrative support, disseminating guidelines and regulation for PHPU, monitoring and evaluation of the Court’s decisions, drafting regulations and technical guidelines, constitution awards, constitutional network, studies and reviews of constitution cases, graduate programs, benchmarking, recharging programs, and internships.
“The year 2023 will be crucial for the Constitutional Court in preparing for the resolution of the 2024 simultaneous election results disputes,” Guntur said before the Attorney General, the Police Chief, the secretary-general of MPR (People’s Consultative Assembly), and the secretary-general of DPD (Regional Representatives Council).
