JAKARTA (MKRI)—The technical assistance program on the Court’s procedural laws for the Indonesian Legal Aid Foundation (YLBHI) and its network organizations, organized by the Constitutional Court’s (MK) Pancasila and Constitution Education Center (Pusdik) was officially closed by the acting head of the Pancasila and Constitution Education Center Imam Margono on Friday, August 12, 2022 at Pusdik, , Cisarua Bogor, West Java.
“Praise to God Almighty that we are all given health and can attend the closing of the technical guidance for YLBHI and its network organizations,” Imam said.
Skills in Litigating
Imam said, to implement the guarantee of the citizens’ constitutional rights as stated in the 1945 Constitution, the Constitutional Court through Pusdik organized technical assistance programs on judicial review procedure for all of society, especially those who already know the law, so that they could be skilled in litigating in the Court.
“The judicial review cases in the Constitutional Court are divided into formal and material ones. During the technical guidance program, our colleagues provided materials on judicial review that were, hopefully, easy to follow and understand, so that you will have skills to assist the parties, justice seekers who feel that their constitutional rights have been violated by the enactment of a law, he explained.
He also asked the participants for recommendations for the improvement of the program. “We are not uncomfortable with criticism. We are happy to receive them, so that we can improve our services,” he said.
Impression on Participants
The program left a lasting impression on the participants. Febi Yunesta expressed her hope that the 4-day program and the cooperation between the Court and YLBHI would continue.
“The program was invaluable to us. There was a different impression and interesting experience because we received a lot of materials on the Constitution and the Constitutional Court, especially the procedure for judicial review. We really appreciated the Court’s and YLBHI’s commitment in organizing this program well,” she said on behalf of the participants.
On this last day, the participants also followed presentations on “The Use of ICT in the Constitutional Court’s Case Resolution” and “The Evaluation of the Practice Judicial Review Petition.” The program took place on Tuesday-Friday, August 10–13, 2022 at Pancasila and Constitution Education Center, Cisarua, Bogor, West Java virtually with 186 participants, who will receive materials on the Constitutional Court and its procedural laws, constitutional interpretation, and the procedural law for judicial review of laws against the 1945 Constitution.
