Improving Access to Justice
This program was the Court’s effort to improve access to justice and to court. It is a routine program that not only targets CSOs but also professional organizations such as the AAKI.
“Although many of the AAKI members are not law graduates, our materials were understood well and practiced. What we are proud of that the PPHKWN materials will be used to draft policy analyses at your offices, as our Constitution guarantees citizens’ constitutional rights and obligations,” Imam explained.
He added that at this program, Diponegoro University law professor Adji Samekto had delivered a presentation on “The Challenges on the Re-actualization of Pancasila Values,” Islamic University of Indonesia’s (UII) constitutional law professor Ni’matul Huda on “The State Administration Based on the 1945 Constitution,” Hasanuddin University law professor Judhariksawan on “The Guarantee of Citizens’ Constitutional Rights in the 1945 Constitution,” and Fajar Laksono on “The Constitution and Constitutionalism.”

A Step Forward
The AAKI chairman Totok Hari Wibowo said the program was a step forward for the AAKI.
“This step by the Constitutional Court opened up space for us, individually, to be more intensely involved in policy improvement, which should be seen as an effort to accelerate and strengthen our recovery,” he stressed.
He also said that in a narrowed perspective, the Court had offered things as output. “We’d like to step into implementation. However, whatever the form may be, the Court could provide input. We hop the Court can give other AAKI members the opportunity [to join this program] in the future,” he said.
